Queens’ College believes in ‘Sound mind in a sound body”. The state of art infrastructure and the well-trained coaches harness the potential of aspiring students.  Making sports an indispensable element of the curriculum, motivates them towards maintaining good health. They not only enjoy the sport but it also provides them with an outlet to expend their excess energy during the growing years. Self-esteem gets a major boost as team mates and coaches reinforce small achievements through positive gestures and encouraging remarks. Leadership skills are honed as teams boost their group towards a winning spirit. Social interactions improve as they learn to communicate effectively with their team mates and coaches. Healthy sportsmanship and appreciation for physical fitness is sown in the young fertile minds during early formative years.

Volley Ball

It is one of the most popular sports in Queens’ College. The school has four full size grass courts, and the students are trained under the supervision of professional coaches. Students participate in state and national level tournaments. The school teams have seen victory in numerous matches.

Swimming

Swimming is an extensive activity which builds muscle strength and fitness. It relaxes the mind and tones the entire body besides being a life skill.The school has one, half international Olympic size pool and a splash pool for beginners. Our swimming coachesimpart swimming techniques and suggest ways to improve performance. They also identify the participant’s abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.

Skating

A dedicated area for skating helps students hone their skating skills. It helps students to work on every muscle group and aids balance and joint flexibility. It is a much enjoyed sport by our students giving them a happy outlet of energy.

Kho Kho

Queens’ College promotes the traditional outdoor Indian sport of Kho Kho. Each player is guided by expert coaches to hone the skills of the game. It fosters speed, agility, strategy and quick thinking. The students participate enthusiastically at various levels.

 

Basketball

Basketball is a popular sport at Queens. The trained coaches guide the students to be agile on the court and master dribbling, shooting and passing. There is one full size basketball court and many practice hoops spread out in the campus. The young learners also imbibe the values of teamwork and self-discipline. The rigorous training and confidence make winners amongst the aspiring players.

Yoga & Fitness

Yoga is a quiet, focused activity. It creates a positive effect on students both physically and mentally. The trainers guide the students on correct breathing and posture. Meditation is also practised regularly to enhance focus and promote calmness. Dedicated areas for yoga and meditation ensure a peaceful atmosphere.

Chess

Chess gives opportunity for developing individual talent and skills. It also has an extra advantage of fostering patience and calmness along with critical thinking, logic, calculating and analytical skills.

Badminton

Badminton is a sport best suitable for fitness, building stamina and skill. The ambition of the students is achieved by the experts who provide rigorous practice and make them ace the nuances of the game including grip, stance, footwork and serve. There are two indoor badminton courts available for the sport. Students represent the school in competitions at various levels.

Roll Ball

Roll ball is a speed sport. It is a combination of skating and hand ball. It helps in building muscles and core strength. The school Roll ball team has participated at various levels.

Athletics

Athletics involves functional exercises to improve muscle strength and response time through various track and field events. Dedication, perseverance, discipline, teamwork and resilience are honed through the spirited participation of students. Spaces are ear marked for practicing track and field events in the campus.
