School Events

The school organizes various events to promote intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. Social events develop interpersonal skills and empathy, the outward dimensions of emotional intelligence (EQ). Through these opportunities students learn to manage their emotions, develop abilities to understand their strengths and accept their weakness. They also learn to appreciate others and get over unhealthy competitive tendencies. Participation in these events encourage students to build relationships, learn teamwork, develop new abilities and transform themselves into better human beings garnering them towards 21st-century skills.

Utkarsh

The Annual Day of the school showcases the multi-faceted talents of young students that have been honed throughout the year. Mentors help identify and foster their hidden aptitudes helping students build confidence and team work skills while providing them with a platform to express their potential.An occasion of celebration, felicitation, and feasting the students not only put on amazing performances but also get recognition for their academic and co-curricular achievements. Various performances are given by the students through dance, music, academic presentations, role-play, and many other events. The overall occasion is a culmination of exemplarycoordination and cooperation of students and staff members.

Antardhwani

‘Antardhwani’, a special occasion for students residing in school, is a fun-filled event organized every year giving the hostel students a chance to celebrate. They showcase their unique talents and become a part of various cultural programs planned for them. Students are also felicitated for their academic achievements and the event gives them an opportunity to get to know each other better and feel at home. Residing in the school premises, away from home this event brings about bonhomie and camaraderie amongst them.

Foundation Day & Investiture Ceremony

Foundation Day is an occasion to reminisce our own moment in history, acknowledge the present strengths and envision the future with hope and fidelity. This day is a chance to come together and celebrate our proud ethos with our community of students, staff, alumni and supporters.

A solemn occasion, the Investiture Ceremonyis the most awaited event of the school. Every year the school and parents celebrate the formation of a new student’s council and honour the school’s young academic/co-scholastic achievers. The Investiture ceremony is a significant occasion wherein young student council members don the mantle of various leadership positions while taking formal oaths to discharge responsibilities assigned to them by the school.

Graduation Ceremony

The Graduation ceremony for high school students is a major event and transition point for students, parents, and teachers. It is a time to celebrate their hard work and achievement and culmination of their school journey. Intended for the passing out batch, this year-end celebration includes presentation of awards, citations and recognition of student achievements. Teachers and school management feel a sense of pride to see off each batch and wish them well as they step out as young adults into the world.

Abhinandan

‘Abhinandan’is an annual ceremony to honour meritorious students of class X and XII. Organized annually the event facilitates the remarkable performance of commendable students to acknowledge their hard work. The ceremony also recognizes the efforts of parents and mentors to help students achieve their goals. It marks the progress of the school and reinforces the school tenet of consistent, diligent and selfless effort.

Snehanjali

An affectionate tribute and farewell, Snehanjali is organized by the students of class XI as a ceremony to bid adieu to the outgoing batch of class XII. Including various cultural activities this event brings back nostalgia for thedeparting batch making it a memorable day for them. The event is full of fun, gaiety, happiness and mixed emotions for all. Stepping out into the world as young adults this event marks the end of their school journey and brings promises of new beginnings.

Lakshya

Lakshya, deriving from goal or aim in English mirrors the sports acumen of the students annually. Celebrated with great zeal, fervour, and healthy competition, students participate in school sports to increase confidence, mental alertness, and self-esteem. The event helps in teaching students various skills like leadership, patience, positive mind-set, team effort, sportsmanship, and social capabilities. It showcases various track and field sports that they have learnt throughout the year. This event also provides a platform for students who are not doing well academically to shine and win accolades and improve their self-esteem.  

Arpan

Teachers’ Day Celebrations at Queens has always been an event to facilitate and honour our educators. This year, on September 04, 2021 Queens’ College was privileged to have the opportunity to laud the mentors for their effort and to acknowledge their invaluable contribution once again. The students offered them srifal (coconut) and flowers, the marked Indian offering  as a token of respect and gratitude. The day became memorable with an exquisite cultural programme conceptualized and executed by the Student Council. Speeches, poems, songs, dance and drama were presented to highlight the significance of ‘guru’ in the lives of students. The teachers were also engaged in rejuvenating games. The School Management extended appreciation to the teaching staff for their commendable work during the COVID crisis that entailed adapting to difficult situations and changes in the teaching learning process.

Exhibitions

Exhibitions are a reflection of learning experiences and a means of evaluating academic progress and achievement. Various academic and co-curricular exhibitions in school are typically held to encourage students to think critically, solve challenging problems and develop skills such as verbal communication, public speaking, research, teamwork, planning, self-reliance, and goal setting.
